French SME Flying Whales has just raised 30 million euros for a new airship balloon freight transport project.
These balloons will be used in the forestry sector to transport trees, electricity pylons and wind turbine blades. They are able to lift 60 tons and consume 50 times less energy than an airplane.
The entry into service of the first models is scheduled for 2023.
