Of the 13 000 tests carried out on German roads in 2018, about 100 of them revealed the use of boxes disabling the AdBlue system.
AdBlue is the system for limiting emissions of nitric oxide (NOx). These boxes available on the internet, are installed in the engine and disables the system to achieve a saving of € 2 every 100 kilometers.
This fraud seems to concern all Europe because Spain and Germany have issued alerts. Thus Spain estimates that 15% of the trucks circulating in the country would be equipped with such a device.
