Fuel thefts on trucks have been increasing since the beginning of the year due to higher prices.
The gendarmerie has recorded 8200 fuel flights since 1 January. Offenses take place mainly at night on the secondary areas of motorways. These flights are explained by the soaring hydrocarbon prices.
To try to stop the phenomenon, patrols are multiplied in the most sensitive areas across France.
Note that there are anti-siphoning alarms that carriers can install on trucks.
