Bosch has just announced that they are developing a new technology to detect driver fatigue, it will be able to be fitted to standard trucks from 2022.
While the European Union will make a fatigue warning system for new trucks compulsory as early as 2022, Bosch plans to go into production that same year. The technology will be based on several cameras positioned in the cabin coupled with artificial intelligence. The system will analyze a set of parameters (blinking, tilting the body, looking towards the passenger or back, etc.).
The system can also predefine settings on the truck by recognizing the driver: seat and steering wheel height, mirrors, etc.
The process is also planned to equip cars.
