Collective action against insurers

News of the 26/05/2020

Insurers have unanimously refused to compensate for operating losses with their transport customers, even those who had taken out insurance covering this loss: collective action is being taken by a firm to try to obtain it.

Professional organizations have already alerted the state to these denials of compensation and this had led to a hearing by the FFA (French Insurance Federation) before the Senate finance committee. The FFA president then explained that the contracts excluded the epidemic event in the general conditions.

But the firm of Me Elias BOURRAN, lawyer at the Court specializing in business law and Doctor of Law, has just launched a collective action against some of the insurers. Indeed, the conditions of certain contracts present conditions empty of legal meaning and the lawyer believes that the carriers have an interest in defending themselves in court.

The action is open until June 15 and registration is done through this portal.
