A major computer failure took place this Monday at the Mont Blanc tunnel causing a general malfunction of technical equipment.
Traffic was interrupted when the anomaly was detected, the vehicles already present in the tunnel were able to continue the crossing under the supervision of the rescue teams. This ban was in place from 11:55 a.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning.
The Alpine crossing plan has been activated by the authorities and all vehicles have been redirected to the Fréjus tunnel.
Fixes and tests have been made this week to correct the situation.
