After nine weeks of closure, the Mont-Blanc tunnel completed its autumn work ahead of schedule, 78 hours in advance. The six main projects covered the 11.6 km linking France to Italy.
Le Dauphiné reminds that the tunnel is now operational between Chamonix and Courmayeur, but that the rehabilitation work will continue in spring 2024.
Changing the 76 accelerators on the vault was the priority project. These new fans, which regulate the air flow in the tunnel, improve thrust by 30%.
