Germany: a scandal over anti-AdBlue boxes

News of the 25/11/2022

The German authorities are sounding the alarm over the proliferation of boxes purchased by unscrupulous carriers that allow exhaust control to be deactivated with AdBlue.

These boxes very easily found on the internet, totally illegal, are installed on the wiring harness of the truck and makes it believe that there is no anomaly on the exhausts when the AdBlue is empty. They thus save up to €2,000 of AdBlue per year. Since the fines incurred are €100 to €200, some carriers are willing to take the risk.

The German Federal Office of Transport is in the process of taking the measure of these violations and will increase and modify its controls. The fines will also most certainly be drastically increased.
