Some companies like the Thermo King groups are switching to this alternative fuel.
The HVO reduces gas emissions by 90% and does not require any modification on diesel trucks, no mechanical changes or special periodic checks. It is therefore a very promising alternative for the future and the Thermo King groups have therefore switched all of their refrigeration units for carriers and semi-trailers to this fuel.
The Irish laboratory in Galway has carried out extensive road tests with the HVO, including endurance with the refrigeration units and these have shown no difference to diesel.
