Several international research centers are currently working on quantum batteries that could allow you to drive more than a million kilometers without needing to be recharged.
The researchers are convinced that the batteries of the future for vehicles will no longer need to be recharged. Based on quantum physics and organic semiconductor materials, this technology will mark an important milestone for research on battery autonomy.
In parallel with the teams of researchers, private companies are doing R&D in the field and this is how Mercedes and IBM have joined forces to develop these batteries.
