Green hydrogen is becoming increasingly important in the road transport sector. Lhyfe, in partnership with the Regional Energy and Climate Agency of Occitanie, announces the start of construction of its new green hydrogen production unit in Bessières (Haute-Garonne), about 40 kilometers from Toulouse. This initiative benefits from 20% funding from the Regional Energy and Climate Agency of Occitanie, following the adoption of its project by the Occitanie Region in 2021. The objective of this initiative is to decarbonize the transport of goods and passengers.
According to Lhyfe, this new facility will be operational by the end of 2023. Lhyfe already operates two green hydrogen production sites, one located in Bouin in Vendée, Pays de la Loire, and the another in Buléon in Morbihan in Brittany. The addition of this new production unit in Bessières will strengthen the supply of green hydrogen in France and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the road transport sector.
