Ban on the circulation of trucks over 40 tons in the Avignon region at peak times

A decree which will come into force from April 2022 taken by the municipalities of Avignon and Rognonas will require trucks to pass through a deviation via the RD28 for the entire perimeter of the southern ring road of Avignon, the avenue de Tarascon and the RD35.

This provision aims to reduce traffic at peak times (from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.) to the MIN (National Interest Market) of Châteaurenard. Every day there are 800 round trips between this depot and Ile-de-France for the transport of agricultural commodities for the region which has many intensive market gardening and tree crops.

This news of course raises many concerns for those involved in the transport of goods in Vaucluse and Bouches-du-Rhône.
