This was one of the main demands of the yellow vests: the non-increase of taxes on fuels. Emmanuel Macron has finally frozen these taxes for 6 months but this also concerns carriers.
The following three measures were to come into effect on January 1, 2019: the increase in the carbon tax on gasoline, fuel oil and diesel; the convergence of the taxation of diesel with that of gasoline and the alignment of the diesel taxation of non-road contractors with the taxation of individuals.
These measures are frozen for a period of 6 months and are therefore postponed to 1 July 2019 if the social climate improves.
In this context of tension, one can also imagine that it will be very difficult for the government to implement the vignette trucks that was planned for 2020.
