This is the worrying result of a study conducted by IRU (International Road Transport Union): if nothing is done to stem this shortage of drivers, the consequences should quickly be felt on the costs of transport.
This is all the more embarrassing because the shortage of drivers is increasing, but so are the needs: the transport needs for 2019 should be higher than in 2018.
According to the IRU study, the biggest disadvantage for 77% of respondents is the long distance path that prevents family life.
One of the avenues envisaged is to provide a set of measures to attract more women to the profession.
